Show it once.
The guide writes itself.

Record your screen while you do the task. DashShot picks the key frames, AI describes every step, and a minute later you have a step-by-step guide with screenshots. Send the link and a teammate, client or new hire can repeat it without a call.

How it works

From screen recording to a finished guide in 4 steps

A video has to be watched start to finish. A guide can be skimmed in 30 seconds to find the step you need and repeat it. DashShot turns the first into the second.

01—

Record your screen

In the Chrome extension or the DashShot app for macOS or Windows. Just do the process the way you normally would.

02—

Click “📄 Documentation”

The button sits in the result window after recording. Trim the extra parts first if you like — the guide is built from the trimmed video.

03—

AI writes the steps

DashShot takes 10 key frames from the whole recording, and AI writes a title for the process and a description for every step.

04—

Share the link

The guide opens on its own page and the link is already copied. You can edit any step.

Tip

How to get the best guide

One process per recording

A “how to set up X” guide comes out clearer than a recording of three different things in a row.

Pause on important screens

Frames are taken evenly across the recording — a 1–2 second pause on a key step makes sure it lands in the guide.

Trim before you create

Cut the start and end where nothing happens so the frames go to real steps.

What the reader gets

A guide you don’t have to rewrite

A ready page with the process title and steps: a screenshot and an explanation for each. Readers don’t need an account, and you find every guide in your dashboard under “Documentation”.

  • Process title and 10 steps with screenshots
  • A description for every step — editable by hand
  • Its own link, no sign-up for the reader
  • Email-only access — on the Pro plan
  • View statistics — on the Pro plan

Who it’s for

For anyone explaining the same thing twice

Onboarding new hires

Record how you work in your CRM, ad account or site admin. New people learn without you.

Guides for clients

How to grant Google Ads access, how to add a product to the site — one recording instead of an hour of messages.

Support

Answer common questions with a link to a guide instead of a fresh explanation every time.

Processes and SOPs

Build your team knowledge base from real recordings of the work, not documents nobody updates.

FAQ

Video → guide — questions and answers

Where is the “Documentation” button?+
In the Chrome extension and the DashShot app for macOS or Windows: after you record a video, click “📄 Documentation” in the result window. GIFs don’t have the button. Every guide you create is in your dashboard under “Documentation”.
How many steps does a guide have?+
10 key frames taken evenly from the whole recording (after trimming). You can edit every step’s description afterwards.
What language is the guide written in?+
The language of your app or browser — English, Ukrainian or Russian.
Why is this better than a plain video?+
A video has to be watched in full. A guide can be skimmed in 30 seconds to find the step you need, and screenshots are easy to keep open next to your work.
How much does it cost?+
The Free plan includes 10 AI actions a month (shared with Voice → task); one guide is one AI action. The Pro plan includes 300 AI actions a month.
Can I limit who sees a guide?+
Yes. On the Pro plan you can require an email before viewing — any email, or one specific address.

Stop explaining the same thing twice.
